New eSmart resources


A new set of infographics is now available in the resource library to guide you through different focus areas of eSmart. Infographics include:

Read this case study from eSmart school Taroona Primary School near Hobart in Tasmania. eSmart Coordinator, Alex McNamara, outlines how their school embeds eSmart into their curriculum and how they have used National eSmart Week to engage their whole school community. 


National eSmart Week is an initiative of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and is being held 6-12 September in 2020. Registrations for 2020 are now open

Industry resources


In December 2019 ACARA published a resource that helps teachers identify existing content in the Australian Curriculum that supports the teaching and learning of online safety. This resource will help you embed online safety teaching into your existing school curriculum. 


eSmart Digital Licence


The eSmart Digital Licence is an online cyber safety program that teaches children critical digital skills to be smart, safe and responsible online. With many resources available such as lesson plans, classroom activities plus a new rubric assessment tool, teachers will find it easy to include the Digital Licence in their curriculum.

Arrange a support visit (Victoria)


Use our travel calendar to see when an eSmart Advisor is visiting your school region this year and submit your interest in a support visit. We will then be in touch to confirm the date and time.

In 2020 we will be offering Professional Learning events for eSmart schools across Victoria and Tasmania. Our theme this year is Leading an eSmart School. Learn more here

Cricket Australia focus on cyber bullying


In December, day two of the Boxing Day Test was dedicated to the Foundation with a focus on cyber bullying. The Foundation, in conjunction with Cricket Australia’s creative team, produced a campaign called #PledgeNotToSledgeOnline. Check out this video to share with your students here!


Celebrating Safer Internet Day


Safer Internet Day was celebrated on 11 February around the world. Congratulations to all the schools who took part. The fantastic online response clearly demonstrated we are working together for a better internet! 


As part of this event, Google released top 10 tips to help you and your family stay safe online and recommends students complete their eSmart Digital Licence.


And congratulations to St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Catholic Parish Primary School - Epping North on celebrating Safer Internet Day. Thanks for sharing the wonderful work you do.
